The third and final fact sheet! This fact sheet had a little different spin to it than the first two. The goal of this fact sheet was to marry the two sustainable agriculture systems that we investigated throughout this project. We wanted to show how both systems could be used in unison in order to combat the agricultural challenges that Namibia is facing. The headlines of hydroponics and aquaponics are shown with some of the most important information that someone would need in order to fully understand the possibilities fo the two systems. First we highlighted some of the key materials that would be needed in order to use both systems and then we segued into how the systems could be used together by highlighting the economic trends, direction of industry and crops that can be obtained. While there are many different components to each system, if they are used together the benefits of the system can be tremendous and we tried to show this within this fact sheet!
Below you can see the fact sheet that we produced! The process that we followed to make the fact sheet was the same as the other two. We read, researched, talked with our sponsors and used their pointers to direct the information that we presented. While talking to our sponsor, Burton Julius, it was great to hear his point of view of one of the possibilities of using both systems. Someone could use both systems to not only provide food security for themselves, but also for their livestock. They could grow fodder in a hydroponic system, food for themselves and family in an aquaponic system, then use the excess to sell in a local market for profit. Have fun reading!
