That's A Wrap

Hello Aquaponics Community!

Today, May 13th, 2020, marks the last day of our seven week project. We would like to thank you all for following us throughout this journey. We wouldn't have been able to complete this project without all of your support! We would also like to make a special thanks to our interviewees, sponsors and advisors. The people we interviewed were Jim Rugarber, Brent Meins, Paul Mason, Joe Pate and Manny Barra. They were pivotal in giving us an insight as to what it means to be aquaponics enthusiast and all of the hard work that it entails. We would also like to thank our sponsors at The Hanns Seidel Foundation: Clemens von Doderer, Lara Beer and Burton Julius. This project would not have been possible without their constant support and guidance! They were wonderful sponsors and we hope that the materials we created helps to further The Aquaponics Project. Last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank our advisors, Professor Doiron and Professor Stafford for helping guide us through this process, as well as, continually encouraging us throughout these crazy times we are in. Without all of these people, none of this would have been possible. Thank you all! We truly can't express how impactful this project has been for all four of us and how much we have learned over the past term.

We hope that his blog has peaked your interested about aquaponics and has lead you to wanting to learn more. Building an aquaponic system is something that can help not only you, but the environment in tremendous ways! We wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors!

If you would like to see our final presentation please feel free to watch the live stream on Youtube! It was very unique doing our final presentations over zoom, but we hope it is fun to watch and shows you everything that we were able to accomplish throughout this project!

This is a video of our entire project site of all of the groups who were supposed to go to Namibia. If you are curious about how other projects adapted to being remote or what other people did please feel free to watch! Our project is from 35:30 until 55:26 in the video. We hope you enjoy!
